even knowing myself would not help me understand my desires.
i long to be with you, but i want you to long for me too.
i push you away, hoping it would be you who would seek me
but alas, that never happened. you left me in the cold,
and in this tomb i created for myself i sit and cry
for the times we used to spend together in the sun;
for the closeness we once shared that made us into one;
i cry for having to set you free, not knowing you won't return,
and amidst these tears of sadness i cry too with joy
for now i know that you have other places to fly to;
greater places i hope, for we were clearly not meant to be.
not all have been lost, the life i shared with you though short
has taught me more than what i would've learned forever alone.
when you fly to your new place please look back and see
that i'm thankful and glad for the time you spent with me...
